The TVC launched this week in 20 different countries, featuring a variety of Asian and Western faces to increase its international appeal.
'Everyone's Olympic Games', created by Cheil Worldwide, stars Olympic ambassador David Beckham signaling the start of the Games by kicking a ball against a gong with an impressive long-range shot and sharing the stunt via his Galaxy S3. People all over the world, eagerly anticipating the event, explode into action and embrace the excitement of the Olympic Games.
“London 2012 is the first Olympics where television will no longer be the dominant medium," said Wain Choi, global ECD at Cheil Worldwide. "Our film shows how the new Galaxy S3 opens up the Games for everyone to enjoy, in a variety of different ways, thanks to the phone’s multi functions.”
“This will be the first truly 'social' Olympics. Second screens (even third screens) will fundamentally change the way people experience these games," echoed Logan Wilmont, ECD at Cheil UK.
"We wanted to use one of the most recognised sportsmen in the world to invite the world to participate in these Games as never before, through the incredible technology inside the Samsung Galaxy S3,” he added.
Samsung expects sales of its popular Galaxy S3 model to top 10 million during July 2012, breaking the company's sales record. The smartphone was first introduced during May 2012 in London, from where it rolled out to 146 markets globally.
