Waiter, there’s a car on my bus

A 3D out-of-home campaign for the Singapore Grand Prix.

Out-of-home (OOH) advertising platform Moove Media launched a new campaign for the Singapore Grand Prix featuring five bus toppers of illuminated F1 cars. The model cars aim to “recreate the night race visual experience”, although of course, the buses are unable to recreate the pace of a real race.

The lighting tech used in the campaign, called LumiWerkz, is a spray-on eletroluminescent paint. The paint produces light and can be turned on and off by reacting to an electrical charge, allowing for pulsating light effects. It can be applied to any surface or 3D object and looks like regular paint when not charged. In the past, Moove has used LED lights to illuminate 3D props.

Moove Media took six weeks to produce the car models and install them on five bus services—routes 7, 10, 123, 174 and 502. These buses will ride in the Orchard Road vicinity from now until September 1. Moove Media is also the advertising arm of taxi company Comfort DelGro.
