XM Asia Pacific promotes Gerard Lim to COO

SINGAPORE — XM Asia Pacific has promoted Gerard Lim to chief operating officer, based in Singapore.

In this newly created role, Lim will report to and work closely with CEO Paul Soon to strengthen client relationships and sharpen the brand’s digital practices, team integration and through-the-line ideation and deployment in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, according to the company.

Lim joined XM Asia in 2008 as managing partner, with a focus on diversifying the agency’s portfolio of expertise, building internal and external relationships, mentoring talent and driving the agency brand growth.

Prior to joining XM, Lim was general manager and group business director at Leo Burnett Singapore, where he established the agency’s core telecommunication, technology & FMCG practice over two stints, spanning nine years.

He also served as managing director of Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, regional account director at Saatchi & Saatchi, and account supervisor at OgilvyOne.

XM Asia, which is a JWT company, last year acquired XM Gravity, Indonesia’s leading digital agency, and is looking at multiple markets for acquisitions this year. XM also has operations in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
