SINGAPORE - Boutique agency The Alchemy Partnership has appointed ECD Alvin Wong as its new CEO, to replace previous MD Michael Liew.

Wong (pictured) has previously worked at Y&R and M&C Saatchi, where he was the creative group head. He then founded a portfolio of specialist communications agencies, including The Alchemy Partnership (advertising), Kult (new media), and NerfCreative (design).

His appointment adds to a slew of recent hires at The Alchemy Partnership. It has also named Jegan Das Haridas as project manager, Keegen Chung as account manager, Xie Zhi Jie as art director and Tristan Yau as producer.

These appointments coincide with the development of several new capabilities unveiled at the agency, including content creation, sports marketing and viral strategies. Among its clients are Red Bull, APB regional and Vantage.

“Because of the demands of an ever-evolving, media-rich environment, we’ve made some hard decisions to change our game,” Wong said. “And we’ve invested in new management talent and new technology to bring us forward and to dominate.”

Early this year, The Alchemy Partnership won two new pieces of business from NETS and Ben & Jerry's. It helped develop the current corporate identity system for NETS four years ago.
