A newly-signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will see Starhub provide US$ 610, 000 (SG$ 800,000) over two years in cash and kind to support Singapore local sports development.

The MOU will see Starhub and SNOC partnering to raise the profile of the Olympic movement and create general interest for sports in the country and the major games that the Singapore team will participate in.

This partnership was arranged by Dentsu Sports Singapore, which developed the SNOC Official Partnership Program (SOPP) in 2009. End-September 2010 saw Canon Singapore boost its existing SNOC sponsorship to the tune of US$750,000.

Starhub's initiative follows its launch of Supersports Arena channel in February this year, which aimed to provide a platform for the broadcast and promotion of local sports.
