Starhub to offer Amazon Prime as a signup perk

Singapore-based StarHub today announced a pact with Amazon to offer Prime Membership as a perk for those who sign up or renew service. With the deal, StarHub becomes the first communications company in Singapore to offer Amazon Prime membership to its entire mobile customer base, including no-contract SIM-Only and prepaid customers.

StarHub mobile customers will enjoy three months of Prime membership, which includes free delivery on items on Amazon.sg and Prime Now, unlimited streaming of Amazon Original series, movies and TV shows on Prime Video, and access to free games and in-game loot on Twitch Prime. The Amazon Prime membership is normally S$2.99 per month.

“We are reaffirming our #HelloChange commitment in 2020 to deliver to customers the best experience and transparent offers without contract,” says Johan Buse, Chief of Consumer Business Group, StarHub. “Offering innovative digital lifestyle services ... enhances our customers’ experience."

StarHub Mobile customers can get the three-month Amazon Prime membership on StarHub when they sign up for a new #HelloChange two-year or no-contract SIM-only plan. Existing customers can enjoy the same offer by renewing their two-year plans or upgrading to the above-mentioned plans.

Following the three-month trial, the Prime membership fee can be charged to the user's StarHub Mobile bill.

StarHub also launched a new prepaid data plan with Amazon Prime. The data plan is called ‘600MB with Amazon Prime’ and offers prepaid customers four weeks of Amazon Prime membership and 600MB of data for $6. These customers can then extend their Amazon Prime membership by buying the same data plan through the StarHub Prepaid app.
