Arora will report to Neil Stewart, Maxus Asia-Pacific CEO, and starts his new job today (1 April).

News that Arora had resigned from StarCom MediaVest broke last week, following his decision to relocate from China for family reasons.

“These are exciting times for Maxus as it tries to reinvent communications planning through its unique data driven approach. It is one of the fastest growing agencies in Asia and I am highly impressed with the energy and passion of the Maxus team,” said Arora.

A long-serving senior executive of Starcom MediaVest Group, Arora was also MD for Beijing and Shanghai for almost two years, MD for Starcom HK for three years, GM and country head for Starcom Korea for two years, as well as holding senior management roles at Starcom in the Philippines and India since 2000.

Speaking of the appointment, Stewart said, “We have seen tremendous success and growth out of a number of our SEA countries - driven most recently by our relationship with L’Oreal. Puneet will be responsible for this key client relationship and also helping to drive even greater success across some of the growth markets of the world such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines.”

Starcom MediaVest Group has not yet found a replacement for Arora, but Jaswinder Kaur, Starcom MediaVest Group's strategic lead for P&G in Asia, will take on his role in the interim, based in Guangzhou.
