Celebration @ Marina Bay is one of several signature events undertaken by SYOGOC (Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee) during the inaugural Youth Olympic Games.

Samsung, worldwide partner of IOC, is the presenting sponsor of this entire event, which is currently being held at The Promontory at Marina Boulevard between 13 August and 26 August.

The whole event includes a daily telecast of the games from the various sporting arenas in Singapore via the giant LED screens set up at the site, including the live telecast of the opening and the closing ceremonies.

The Samsung Live Stage will feature a total of 63 concerts and performances over the 14 day celebration period, including young and popular talents from Singapore like Electrico, Great Spy Experiment, NOX, Urban Drum Crew, Shirlyn Tan & The Unexpected, NUS Orchestra, Nathan Hartono and Friends, Dawn ho and Indigo and many others.

It will also feature Sezari Sezali, winner of Singapore Idol 2009, who will be performing in a concert on 21 August.

"This is a first for Singapore and a first for the region where so many outdoor concerts are being held over a 14 day period. The public audience is expected to see an average of 4 concerts per day free," Peter Yap, managing director of Momentum Singaore and executive producer of the event, said in a telephone interview.

Celebration @ Marina Bay was officially launched by Singapore's Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew on 13 August, by lighting up the cauldron with the Youth Olympic Flame when it arrived at the site.
