For the past two and a half years, Tan has been heading DDB Guoan Beijing and is the "obvious choice to also lead the Shanghai office,” said Dick van Motman, president and CEO of DDB Group Greater China.

“I will be taking our business growth to another level by consolidating our key clients across North China, focusing on creative technology supporting our work, namely in the digital and CRM disciplines,” Tan said. South China is currently under the dual care of Simone Tam, president of DDB Group Hong Kong and Guangzhou as well as Roy Soetanto, managing director of DDB Group Taiwan.

John Zeigler, chairman and CEO of DDB Group Asia Pacific, India and Japan, said Tan's leadership will help continue the network's "impressive" China growth and "increase our talent pool across North China, preparing us for the next level of our expansion plans.”

Tan has more than 22 years of experience in the communications industry, including 14 years in China with Euro RSCG and D’Arcy. Prior to joining DDB Guoan, he was vice chairman of Euro RSCG Greater China responsible for the management and development of Euro RSCG 4D, the digital arm of the agency.
