SYDNEY - Australian directors Dael Oates and Owen Trevor and executive producer Lucas Jenner have launched production company Rabbit Content Australia.

Rabbit Content launches Asia-Pacific operations in Australia

Founded in collaboration with Rabbit in the US, Oates, Trevor and Jenner have established an independent Asia-Pacific presence based out of Sydney with business development partner Tom Marks heading its Melbourne office.

Trevor is best known for his work directing on five seasons of BBC’s Top Gear and short film Two Laps. During his five-year stint in London, Trevor has worked on commercials for a roster of clients including Volkswagen, Range Rover, Wild Turkey and Burberry.

Director and photographer Oates started his career with Oscar-awarded animation house Animal Logic and has since moved into the world of commercials. His awards includes a Kodak new director award and a gold from the New York festival for music video Cherry Tree.

Jenner has worked in the industry for the past 12 years and as a producer for the last eight. He has worked across the advertising spectrum and his client list includes Air New Zealand, Lux, Olay, Gillette, Telstra, Vodafone and Guinness.

In addition to Oates and Trevor, the roster launches with established international directors Bobby Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There's Something about Mary), Jackson+Karinja and 2013 Oscar nominees, The Fines.

Oates believes that the company’s founders drive its creative culture. “We are all very like-minded guys,” he said. “We work together really well, and we're excited about everything each other is doing, whether it’s a commercial, short film, theatre or our own art shows.”

The new company is focused on finding new solutions for challenges faced by clients and agencies, added Jenner. "In this climate, we believe a company needs to be stocked with multi-disciplinary creatives who are able to work across diverse fields, such as events, photography, web content and film."
