Publicis drops 'Optimedia' name in favour of Blue 449

Publicis Media has announced that it will no longer use the 'Optimedia | Blue 449' brand name, which only came into being in March when Publicis restructured its media branch

The company said today that the six remaining Optimedia offices, and Match Media in Australia, will be rebranded to Blue 449 as well.

Blue 449 has 14 core markets and 22 offices, and intends to launch new offices in a further eight markets including Singapore, Mexico, Taiwan and Bulgaria by the end of 2017.

Andras Vigh, Blue 449's global brand president, said in a press statement that the rebranding fits with the organisation's focus through this year of creating a consistent global footprint.

John Preston, CEO of Match Media, said that the "next evolution of Match as Blue 449, further powers us as a global brand that provides our people with unified purpose." Match Media was acquired by Publicis Groupe in June 2015.
