Henderson’s appointment comes after an extensive international search, according to the agency. He was previously director of Fuse, an engagement channel planning and branded content division of OMD which he established in the market in 2004.

Recently appointed chief executive Peter Horgan described Henderson as “a strategic heavyweight” whose background in public relations and sponsorship brings “a unique approach to solving communications challenges”.

Henderson will report directly to Horgan. Formerly a joint managing director of the agency alongside Leigh Terry, Horgan recently became chief executive following the promotion of Terry to chief executive of Omnicom Media Group in Australia.
