Ang, who joined OMD in June, has a solid understanding of the China media landscape and its complexities. Most recently she was responsible for transforming the Intel business through strategic leadership and innovation, prompting her fast-track promotion. She also worked at Publicis Modem as managing director for Asia, where she left in April.

"Our clients are looking forward to tapping into Arlene's digital prowess to boost their digital quotient, and there are many opportunities for us as a company in Beijing and with Arlene's management. We hope to grow our Beijing operation from strength to strength," said Siew Ping Lim, CEO OMD China.

Cherrie Ngai, who has been with the agency for six years, will mainly be responsible for driving Danone's position in the market place. The role will also provide Cherrie with a more independent remit.

Talking about the two new appointments, Elaine Ip, CEO Omnicom Media Group China, said, "We are very proud to have developed two strong talents in China, who are possibly among our next generation of leaders."
