Ogilvy tipped to handle bulk of Resorts World Sentosa business

SINGAPORE – Ogilvy & Mather is believed to be handling a significant amount of Resorts World Sentosa’s (RWS) tactical advertising business, while the account still resides officially with Y&R Singapore.

O&M originally handled Singapore’s other Integrated Resort (IR) and casino Marina Bay Sands before agency and client parted ways “by mutual consent” in August 2010.

A source says that much of the work being handled by Ogilvy is by their RedWorks, tactical team, so is business previously handled by Rocket, not Y&R, so the impact on Y&R's side of the business would be minimal.

RWS appointed Y&R to their business back in August 2009 after a pitch. The business was previously with TBWA until agency and client parted ways in April 2009. The media business was won by MPG in November 2010.

A spokesperson for Y&R said, “RWS has always been a multi agency client.  As far as Y&R’s scope is concerned, it’s business as usual.”
