Based in Beijing, Eschenbacher will serve regional clients spanning greater China and the Asia-Pacific.

Eschenbacher announced his step back from advertising in May 2010; he studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, focusing on Chinese creativity, design, and visual arts. Prior to joining TribalDDB as regional executive creative director in 2007, he served in the same role with OgilvyOne.

"We're delighted to welcome Dirk back into the Ogilvy family," Chris Reitermann, president of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Asia-Pacific, said in a statement. Reitermann added that Eschenbacher's expertise in digital will be instrumental as the agency continues to "embed digital across the organization".
