Handel replaces current managing director, Joan Deni, who is returning to a senior role in MRM New York at the end of the year following completion of her five-year assignment in APAC.

Commenting on the appointment, Mark Cripps, regional director for MRM Asia Pacific, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Nick to the fold. He will be tasked with further building on Joan’s legacy in this vital market."

Added Cripps, "In the past two years, the Singapore office has witnessed significant growth including notable successes on key multi-national clients, such as Intel, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care and Exxon Mobil. Whilst welcoming Nick, we also thank Joan for her contribution and wish her continued success back in the States.”

Handel, who worked with Leo Burnett & Arc Worldwide for four years, left the Group in August 2010.

He subsequently moved to Huge, a sister agency of Lowe under the Interpublic Group (IPG). Following a brief stint of only a few weeks, Handel called it quits in November this year.

The company statement said that Handel’s appointment at MRM Worldwide follows that of Charles Cadell, the new Singapore-based regional managing director for McCann Worldgroup, Southeast Asia and Australia, and Ben Lightfoot, the new CEO of McCann Worldgroup Singapore.
