Devised by Catcha Digital, the operator of MSN Malaysia, the revamp was an attempt to elevate it to higher standards following months of growth in user numbers this year.
The new features include a simple and impactful home page that provides an ideal space for advertisers to engage with users, more Malaysian content on local entertainment, lifestyle, news and sports and a bevy of social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and Messenger feeds.
The new home page layout also offers more advertising opportunities for marketing campaigns to engage a growing number of MSN users in Malaysia.
“The new home page was rolled out in line with Microsoft’s global initiative to create a more modern and stylish look for the MSN portal,” said Ken Tsurumaru, chief executive officer, Catcha Media.
"What we have done for our Malaysian site was to incorporate the best of our local content and create a home page that is relevant and functional for our users and advertisers alike," he added.
Recent results from Comscore suggest that Windows Live Messenger is the leading messenger in Malaysia with a combined reach for Windows Live and MSN Malaysia of 4.3 million, accounting for 42 per cent of Malaysia’s online population.
