The team will initially focus on advertising, apps and mobile sites, and will introduce augmented reality, consulting, mobile content production and mobile DSP in the future.

Tasked with establishing the team, Prabhvir Sahmey said mobile marketing needs serious attention from both marketers and agencies.

“We are excited to add another feather in our service offerings and we expect to develop more mobile marketing campaigns this year,” he added.

Mindshare India, which recently set up the Mobile Centre of Excellence, will work with the Singapore team to drive thought leadership and nurture new talents.

Leela Nair, managing director at Mindshare Singapore, noted that the mobile offering is the next phase of the agency’s plan to provide its clients with an integrated digital offering.

“Prabhvir and his team have unique skill sets to build mobile strategies that are tailored to our clients’ business needs,” she said.

Rohit Dadwal, managing director of the Mobile Marketing Association in Asia-Pacific, said the centre of mobile excellence by Mindshare Singapore is the first step toward greater understanding and for the industry to engage and reach consumers more effectively.

“Today’s tech-savvy, digitally aware consumers live with their mobile devices always close at hand," he said. "Their demands are changing the media landscape, and it is important for mobile marketers as well as anyone else who is interested in the mobile space to pay close attention to them.”
