Mindshare Hong Kong promotes Remy Ng as deputy leader

HONG KONG - Mindshare Hong Kong has promoted Remy Ng, who has served the agency since 1998, from partner, client leadership, to deputy leader, a role which is the same as general manager.

Ng (pictured) has been looking after the China team that is based in Mindshare Hong Kong office with key accounts such as Prada, Rolex, and Chow Sang Sang. She was also one of the leaders for the agency’s growing activation team.

Melanie Lo, Mindshare Hong Kong's long-serving managing director, who will succeed KK Tsang as chief executive officer of GroupM Hong Kong on 1 August, explained that Ng is not replacing anyone. "As there are a lot of developments happening in Mindshare, I need to add on a senior managing partner to lead and push everything forward," Lo said. "So this is a new addition."

Ng started her 4A agency career in Ogilvy & Mather and DDB before joining Mindshare in 1998. She has been in the media industry for almost 17 years.

The promotion recognises Ng’s great contributions, including running and nurturing the stable growth of the agency's China team from 1998 onwards, according to the agency.

Ng, who has been the 'China expert' for colleagues and clients in Mindshare Hong Kong's office and the group, was heavily involved in all China-related pitches. She also played a dual role running Mindshare's Shenzhen office for three years starting in 2003.

Ng also served as training leader of Mindshare Hong Kong from 2007 to 2010, helping to run and coordinate many training sessions, including the 2006 Midea, “The no rules just results” training, and the HK2As sponsorships, and the very recent HK4As University career day showcase.

“Remy never come to me with a problem without a well thought solution, and the best way to manage her is to “leave it to her”, Lo said. "So I can just say, she is very ready for this promotion, and it is very well deserved.”
