Mindshare hires data and technology head for APAC from IPG

Appointment of Aloun Liu aims to give the company’s FAST hub a shot in the arm.

SINGAPORE - Mindshare has appointed Aloun Liu to the newly created role of head of data and technology for Asia-Pacific.

Liu moves from IPG Mediabrands, where he was the founder and MD of its Global Technology Solutions arm.

He will work with Mindshare’s partners to develop the agency’s data-related products and support its FAST  (Future Adaptive Specialist Team) hubs. Liu will also focus on design development and execution of all existing and future reporting of all campaign activities that Mindshare runs for clients in Asia, Middle East and Africa.

Present in Singapore, London, New York, Shanghai and Mexico, FAST is designed for clients with centralised needs, and offers service verticals including the Loop room, programmatic, performance, attribution and big data.

“Aloun joins Mindshare at a time when our FAST services across our blue-chip clients are at its peak, not to ignore our overall vision to drive business platforms and services as the central enabler towards data driven marketing,” said Gowthaman Ragothaman, chief operating officer of Mindshare APAC. “Alound will play a key role in advising our clients for an agnostic and open-sourced technology solution that brings the best of both slow- and fast-moving data streams.”

Liu has more than 15 years experience in systems, data and technology and has worked with PWC, Charles Schwab, FTI Consulting and Wells Fargo.
