In the Professional Awards, a total of 14 gold, 48 silver and 49 bronze Bullets were awarded across the advertising, digital, design and media categories.

The 2010 Young Gun of the Year was between two bright ideas from the Asia region, one from Malaysia and the other from Japan. The award went to Douglas Goh from McCann Erickson Malaysia for his 'Receipt stories' in the content and engagement categories. The other entry belongs to Kana Nakano from Dentsu for her iButterfly idea in the digital GPS or location technology category.

Other key awards include DDB Worldwide winning Network of the Year, DDB New Zealand winning Agency of the Year and Kinetic Singapore taking home Design Agency of the Year.

In the design category, almost 50 per cent of the winners and finalists were from Asia with entrants from Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, India and Malaysia vying for the Young Guns 2010 Design Award. Kinetic Singapore won five out of the 18 Bullets awarded in this category.

“Every product and every client has something unique to offer, and the ideas that stood out this year were the ones that used those unique assets to create a real benefit to the consumer. And from that, generated a relationship with and a loyalty to the brand. From cutting edge digital to the humble coupon, the jury saw extraordinary original thinking and world class craft,” said Duncan Marshall, 2010 jury chairman and ECD, partner at Droga5.
