The appointment follows a pitch and the first creative work is expected to launch in mid-May.

AIA is current working with M&C Saatchi and Leo Burnett in the region.

M&C Saatchi was appointed in August 2009 to reposition the corporate marketing business of the insurance company.

Leo Burnett separately holds the initial public offering side.

AIA was bought out by Prudential earlier this year for US$35.5 billion. Head-quartered in Hong Kong, Prudential's creative account is currently handled by Ogilvy & Mather.
