Nair will be responsible for setting up a new programme for finding, training and mentoring new talent to fuel the company's growth plans in Singapore and across Asia. She will also ensure that GroupM's 'Aspire' training programmes are fully leveraged across the existing agency teams.

Nair has over 17 years experience in the industry, and has spent the past five years in Singapore with OMD, where she is currently MD of OMD International.

"We all know that talent is the key driver of our business, but it's so hard to find an experienced leader like Leela, with real local knowledge, who is prepared to start putting something back into the industry," said James Chadwick (pictured), GroupM Singapore CEO. "Leela will handle the 3T's across the group - Talent, Training and Trading - and I know she'll be a huge success in this new role."

Nair said: "Somehow our industry kind of lost its way here, and forgot the importance of investing in its people, and I'm excited to be joining GroupM, a company that still believes in developing its talent. And by combining the role with trading, it will keep me from becoming rusty and too theoretical, and I can still enjoy creating strategies to drive the best deals for our clients."
