Kancil Awards garners increased entries from advertising industry

KUALA LUMPUR - Kancil Awards 2010 has received a flurry of entries this year, increasing from 715 to 1,068 in all 10 categories.

The print category saw an increase of 27 per cent to 366 entries this year while entries for television went up 58.5 per cent to 130 entries.

The digital category increased 59.7 per cent to a total of 147 entries while the design and rebel advertising entries more than doubled to 119.4 per cent and 133.3 per cent to a total of 79 and 14 entries respectively.

Meanwhile, entries for direct advertising and radio categories increased by 82.6 per cent and 13.6 per cent respectively rising to 42 entries and 142 entries this year. 

Entries for the integrated category increased by 100 per cent to 20 entries while copywriting soared to 79 entries, an increase of 393.7 per cent, compared to last year’s 16, while outdoor advertising entries increased by 32.4 per cent to a total of 49 entries this year.

The panel of judges this year, which was recently finalised, comprises nine judges for film and radio advertising, another nine judges for print, poster, POS, outdoor and design advertising and nine more for digital and direct advertising.

Hosted by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As), the Kancil Awards 2010 will take place on 26 November at the Sime Darby Convention Centre.
