HONG KONG - Carmen Cha, GM of Maxus Hong Kong, has been promoted to the head of GroupM trading in Hong Kong, effective on 1 December.

Cha (pictured) will report to KK Tsang, CEO of GroupM Hong Kong and Andrew Meaden, regional director of GroupM Asia Pacific.

The promotion is in line with earlier reports that Caroline Chan, GM of OMD Hong Kong, will join Maxus Hong Kong as MD in mid-late November.

Currently every agency under GroupM Hong Kong has its own trading team but there is no functioning head in Hong Kong.

Cha will be charged to lead the GroupM trading team and maxmise trading systems, as well as explore innovative trading methods and its competitive edge on buying to maximize value for all media vendors and their clients.

"The restructuring is still at an early stage and we are still discussing the details," Tsang said. "But the post is a late set up in Hong Kong as many markets in Asia-Pacific has already got this role in place."
