Wong came on board this week, and is reporting to Simon Au Yong, general manager of Puma Hong Kong, who joined the brand in May 2010.

Before joining Puma, Wong had been with Nike Hong Kong and Greater China for over 10 years, climbing the career ladder from retail resources supervisor in 2000 to other roles including advertising and digital manager for Nike Hong Kong, category business lead for Nike, and her last position as senior marketing operations manager for Nike Greater China from October 2010.

Adrian Toy, who recently joined Puma as its regional marketing head, commented, "Wong has good digital experience, which is the breed of new marketers we will need as we increasingly shift our activities online.”

Wong added that different from other sports brands which have a strong focus on sports themselves, Puma’s positioning is as a ‘sports lifestyle’ brand, hence it has a wider scope in terms of marketing.

Wong will look after the overall marketing and brand communications of Puma in Hong Kong, from PR events and trade promotions, to advertising campaigns.

Puma has regional and global alignment with ZenithOptimedia, and uses a number of creative agencies on a project-by-project basis. Reported in May, Puma has signed Proximity China as its digital creative AOR.
