DraftFCB New Zealand, Lester Wunderman awarded at the Caples

The agency won Best Art Direction and Best Copywriting awards for its ‘Mini Mostnificent’ campaign in the market.

The Caples awards are produced by Haymarket Media US and pay tribute to the most creative solutions to marketing problems.

Other international winners included Shackleton Madrid, which took Best in Show for its ‘Quique the head’ campaign for Diesel; and Leo Burnett Beirut client Exotica, which was named Courageous Client for its campaign ‘Make a move’.

In terms of personal awards, Wunderman founder and chairman Lester Wunderman received the Andi Emerson Award for outstanding service and contribution to the direct marketing community; and Crispin Porter Bogusky ECD Jeff Benjamin, responsible for Burger King’s ‘Subservient chicken’ work, received the Irving Wunderman award in recognition of his engaging viral work.

There were a total of 22 gold, 42 silver and 49 bronze award winners.

The John Caples International Awards honours the best in direct and interactive marketing around the world. It is funded by industry agencies, clients and suppliers and run by industry volunteers. Over 100 active, senior-level, international creative professionals serve as judges.
