HONG KONG - Dominic Purvis, outgoing general manager of marketing and communications for Swire Properties, will be moving on to head up sales and marketing for its hotel arm later in the second half of the year.

Purvis' new title will be director of sales and marketing of hotels and restaurants at Swire Hotels, after he moves on from his current tenure of almost three years when he assumed the role of central marketing, communications and community engagement for Swire Properties in 2009.

Before that, Purvis (pictured) served just over a year in the role of general manager of environmental affairs for Swire-owned Cathay Pacific.

He will soon lead the sales and marketing strategies for Swire's hotel brands in mainland China, Hong Kong and the UK, including The Opposite House, The Upper House, EAST, and Chapter Hotels.

In October last year, Swire Hotels appointed Dean Winter to the newly created role of area general manager in Hong Kong, expanding his operational responsibility to include the lifestyle business hotel EAST whilst continuing in his role as general manager of The Upper House.
