In his role, Merlen (pictured) will report to Ernest Reid, vice president of global accounts and Grace Ho, managing director of Razorfish Hong Kong who is also overseeing Digitas Hong Kong. He will lead Hong Kong’s creative team, oversee the creative process of the agency, and be personally involved in delivering creative work for regional accounts like Gucci, Intel, Mead Johnson and Asus - work that ‘stretches the Digitas global expectations’.

Armed with 13 years of design and online marketing experience in Paris, Merlen joins Digitas Hong Kong having served almost four years in the Publicis Groupe as creative director of Publicis Modem Paris.

“At Digitas, we use new technologies to create conversations between brands and consumers, inspiring people to take action," Reid commented on Merlen’s appointment. "To do this effectively, we need people like Merlen - who has impressive credentials as a creative innovator and a genuine passion for technology.”

"The European market had big growth in digital last year, Asia is still in the starting phrase, I want to bring my digital creative flair and team management experience to Hong Kong office," Merlen said.

Reported in September, Larry Tang, managing director of Digitas Hong Kong departed after one year in the job.
