GUANGZHOU - Dentsu Top Guangzhou has won the advertising account for Longda Peanut Oil, in a competitive pitch involving both international and local agencies.

Besides Dentsu Top, other agencies invited to picth included local agency GDAD and Young & Rubicam, as well as two other local agencies.

With competition turning white-hot in recent years, major players on China's peanut oil market are spending huge amounts of money on advertising each year. Longda's major rival, Arawana, has been especially active over the past several years.

Longda, which has grown from a local company in East China's Shandong Province into a national brand over the past decade, is now striving to consolidate its market share, according to the China Food Industry Web.
