Celestial Pictures, Now TV enters contract for Celestial Movies Asia

HONG KONG - Celestial Pictures has signed a a multi-year renewal contract with pay-TV network Now TV in Hong Kong to carry 24-hour channel Celestial Movies Asia (CMA).

Now TV subscribers can now enjoy major Asian blockbusters through CMA on channel 147. The channel will also host exclusive first-run Hong Kong movies.

CMA and Now TV will also offer selected movies through an on-demand service coming in the first quarter of 2011.

“This agreement exemplifies our commitment to work very closely with our platform partners to offer not only great content but to do so in the form and through distribution channels most relevant to their viewers,” said Janice Lee, executive VP of TV and new media at PCCW (Now TV’s holding company).

CMA launched in Hong Kong in 2008. It focuses on Asian movies in their original language with English and Chinese subtitles.
