Carslberg China marketer Priyadarshini Sharma moves on

Former Women to Watch 2019 winner joins spice and condiment company McCormick in newly-created Asia-Pacific role.

Carslberg China marketer Priyadarshini Sharma moves on

Priyadarshini Sharma, the senior director of marketing for Carslberg Group in China, has left the alcohol brand after more than six years to join spice maker McCormick & Company.

Sharma has relocated from Guangzhou to Singapore, to lead Asia-Pacific marketing for McCormick. She took up the role on Wednesday (July 1).

It is a new role at the US-based spice and seasoning maker, with Sharma telling Campaign that her initial focus will be on developing the strategic consumer roadmap for the region, including developing a regionally scalable portfolio and communications strategy. She added a priority will also be building regional scale around its digital and ecommerce platforms.

Sharma reports into Asia Pacific Zone president, Daniel Moorfield.

Asked what attracted her to joining the spice brand, Sharma said: "As a corporate citizen and a mom, the purpose & values of McCormick for creating a world united by flavour where healthy, delicious and sustainable go hand in hand really resonates with me. McCormick is also an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion—both of which I am a passionate advocate of. I believe that with this role, I will be able to help build a sustainable business in Asia—delivering quality products and ingredients that make for memorable family moments and also help local communities to thrive."

The marketer joins from Carlsberg Group, where she was most recently senior director of marketing in China, leading marketing for the company's flagship Carlsberg brand and its premium portfolio for China. She was formerly group commercial brand director for its premium brands in Hong Kong.

Prior to Carslberg, Sharma spent nearly six years as a brand manager at FMCG giant Procter & Gamble, and two years as a brand manager at Samsung in India.

Sharma featured in Campaign's Women to Watch 2019 list of Asia-Pacific's top 40 rising female stars.
