Eugene Cheong (pictured), regional executive creative director of Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific, will lead the Radio Lions jury; the Cyber Lions jury will be chaired by Nick Law, executive vice-president and chief creative officer of R/GA USA; Keith Rose, director of Velocity Films in South Africa, will be responsible for the Film craft jury; and the Media jury will be headed by Maria Luisa Francoli Plaza, global chief executive officer of MPG.
Other industry figures representing Asia as jurors include in the Radio category Jay Furby, creative director of Jay Grey in Australia and Nitesh Tiwari, ECD of Leo Burnett India.
In the Cyber category, jurors include Mariano Dorfman, founder and ECD of Icolic Australia; Fareeda Cassumbhoy, deputy general manager of Hylink Advertising in China; Ryan Menezes, chief creative officer of Percept/H in India; Hiroki Nakamura, creative director at Dentsu in Japan; Won Hye-Jin, creative director at Innocean Worldwide in Korea; Jose Alomajan, digital partner at Droga5 in New Zealand; and Valerie Cheng, ECD at JWT XM Singapore.
The Film craft jury will include David Denneen, director of Film Graphics Entertainment in Australia; Prasoon Pandey, ad filmmaker at Corcoise Films in India; and Naoki Ito, ECD at Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo.
Media jurors will include Barry Cupples, CEO of OMD Asia-Pacific; Cheuk Chiang, CEO of PHD Asia-Pacific; James Greet, CEO of Mindshare in Australia; Keiichi Higuchi, communication design director of Dentsu in Japan; and Alistair Jamison, CEO of Starcom in Australia.
In a statement, Cannes Lions chairman Terry Savage said the contribution of the jurors to the future of the industry should not be underestimated. “It’s an honour to have such authorities on board for this year’s awards,” he concluded.
