SINGAPORE - The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has put out a tender for its media monitoring. The contract is for one year.

CAAS launches tender for media monitoring business
Media Monitors and Meltwater are the only two contenders, according to a CAAS spokesperson.

The tender requirements include a free one-month trial period starting today. During this period the contenders are to monitor news articles, letters to the editors and related replies, opinions and commentaries relating to CAAS, Changi Airport Group, Changi Airport, local and foreign airlines, airports and civil aviation authorities.

Tier 1 news sources include Singapore print and broadcast media, regional and international English-language newspapers, and news wires. International aviation-related print publications and online media fall under Tier 2.

Leon Hudson, Media Monitors’ director of sales and client services, Southeast Asia, said: “It’s a prestigious account. A trial period allows the client an opportunity to interact with us. We’re in it to win it.”

He claims Media Monitors to be the largest media intelligence company in Asia-Pacific. It has 5,000 clients including government bodies, multinational companies and public relations agencies across the region.

Meltwater Group’s spokesperson is not available for comment at press time.
