BBDO/Proximity Malaysia makes senior hires

KUALA LUMPUR - BBDO/ Proximity has appointed VJ Anand group creative head. In addition, Michelle Achuthan takes on an expanded role as general manager of both BBDO and Proximity, and Karen Koay takes on the role of account director.

Anand will work closely with executive creative director Mun Tuck Wai and joins the agency with more than a decade of experience in the digital scene at IDM/Cellnetwork, XM and Ogilvy Interactive. He most recently handled activation and digital at Riverorchid Bangkok.

Achuthan, meanwhile, has almost 20 years of experience in the industry, with the last six at BBDO.

The agency has also hired five mid-level executives including two senior account managers.

Jennifer Chan, group chief executive of BBDO/ Proximity, said. “Our agency will be fuelled by a team of eight very competent and talented creatives and executives to drive our client's businesses and ours."

BBDO/ Proximity Malaysia is also bidding farewell to Proximity's business director Janet Teo, who will be relocating to Dubai with her husband.
