BBDO Proximity China assembles new leadership team

SHANGHAI - BBDO Proximity has announced a new leadership team in China with Douglas Lin as managing director, Jonathan Ip as head of creative and Daniel Tao as head of business.

Lin has been working in the Singapore, New Zealand and San Francisco digital marketing and advertising space for over 15 years. He has been with BBDO Proximity since 2007, heading up digital strategy practices for markets around the world. Prior to that, he was VP of digital development at McCann Relationship Marketing in San Francisco, responsible for the global digital development of Microsoft and AMD.

He has managed online marketing efforts for Autodesk, as well as stints at Frankel/Publicis, Citron Haligman Bedecarre (AKQA) and Ketchum for clients including Johnson & Johnson, Visa International, Hewlett Packard, Toyota, Nestle and Sony.

Ip has 10 years' interactive field experience in the US and China, managing an eclectic client portfolio including Tiffany & Co, Nike Lab, Nike Basketball, Crest, Mead Johnson, Nippon Paint and Kraft.

Tao‘s marcomms career started when he joined Ogilvy & Mather Beijing in 1993. Since then he has worked at Ogilvy Interactive and Wwwins Isobar, specialising in interactive and digital channels. He has served clients across various industries including AT&T, IBM, Pepsi, Seagram Martell, SmithKline Beecham and Nokia.

Richard Fraser, regional managing director of Proximity Asia, commented, “Douglas' appointment is a key component of our ongoing growth strategy in China and he brings a wealth of global digital marketing experience to the role. Both Jonathan and Daniel have joined us for awhile, we strongly believed they will build a solid triangle to grow Proximity China.”
