Prior to the appointment, Gonzalez was the general manager. Her new role will see her working more closely with BBDO's executive committee in The Philippines, as it expands its offering with the recently launched Proximity Shop and Designworks.

She will also be leading further initiatives in revenue generation and new business that the agency has under development.

Tony Harris, chief executive of BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines, said, “Fran is the very heartbeat of the agency. Her counsel is always sound and her touch is always sure, but marry this to her natural dynamism and charm and you have a leader with real star potential.”

Gonzalez joined BBDO Guerrero in 2005 as group account director working primarily on the Pepsico business. She was then appointed as the client service director in 2008 and later as general manager in 2010, working with clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Emperador Distillers, Fonterra and Pepsico.

Gonzalez was also recently voted to the board of the 4As.

David Guerrero, chairman and CCO of BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines, added, “Fran embodies all the values we look for at BBDO. The foremost being her commitment and ability to inspire great work.”

BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines made three internal appointments in October last year, in a reorganisation of its management responsibilities and structure.
