Bates CHI&David picks up Volkswagen after pitch against DDB and TBWA

The appointment will see the agency handling Volkswagen’s advertising account, encompassing print, TV and digital.

Agencies vying for the business, including DDB and TBWA, lost out to Bates CHI&David because its open-source business model "allows our agency to flex around projects in a variety of ways", according to Bates CHI&Partners CEO David Mayo.

In Hong Kong, Volkswagen tranferred its business to OgilvyOne from Uth Creative for branding and digital marketing a month ago.
