Aviva promotes Shaun Meadows to regional marketing role

SINGAPORE - Aviva has named Shaun Meadows, the CEO of its Singapore and Hong Kong operations, as the marketing head for Asia-Pacific, while Simon Newman, Aviva's managing director for Singapore, has been promoted to the role of CEO Singapore.

Aviva promotes Shaun Meadows to regional marketing role

In his new role Meadows will be handling marketing for nine markets in Asia-Pacific.

Meadows has been with the insurance industry for 26 years and at UK-based Aviva for 20. Prior to taking on the CEO role for Singapore and Malaysia he was the marketing head of Norwich Union (the previous name for Aviva in the UK) and before that of breakdown recovery service RAC.

An Aviva spokeswoman said: “Aviva Asia has announced changes to its leadership structure to support the organisation's strategic and executive succession goals as well as prepare it for the next phase of growth in the region.”

According to this spokeswoman the leadership changes put Aviva “well on track to achieving our overall targets for the region.”

“We have also broadened and deepened our leadership capability, building the next generation of senior leaders from within our existing talent pool.”

Aviva recently announced it would not be renewing its sponsorship of the Aviva Open Singapore, but would continue its support for the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore for another three years until 2012.

Last month Aviva kicked-off a pitch for its estimated US$250 million global media planning and buying account. The review was called with the aim of consolidating Aviva’s media into one agency or network and affects all the 28 markets in which the insurer operates globally.
