Adam Sefton rejoins Reading Room to aid international expansion

SINGAPORE – Reading Room, the full-service digital agency, which has done work for a host of brands including Philips, Skoda and Pernod Ricard has hired former R/GA London planning director Adam Sefton as its chief strategy officer.

In his new role, Sefton will shuttle between Singapore and London, pushing creative effectiveness for clients across geographies as the company expands its operations in Asia. 

At, R/GA London, Sefton was responsible for global planning and digital strategy for Unilever. He was also in charge of the Nokia account. 
 
This will be Sefton’s second stint at Reading Room. “I’m so excited that Adam is back in the Reading Room family,” said Margaret Manning, the company’s CEO, in a press statement. “Our business has grown rapidly in the past 12 months, thriving in the Asia Pacific region in particular, and Adam will help to contribute to our success, providing valuable insights to our clients on a global scale.”
 
In July this year, the digital agency opened an office in Melbourne, Australia. It started working out of Singapore only last year and is reported to be scouting six or seven other locations in Asia, including Mumbai, Shanghai and Japan, although Campaign Asia-Pacific could not independently verify this. 
 
When contacted, the company said it was too soon to say which accounts Sefton would be specifically working on. The Reading Room website highlights its work for Philips Healthcare in the ASEAN region and the Competition Commission of Singapore. Within the region, It has also done work for the Australian Museum and the Queensland Museum.
