Judi Dench's agents go undercover at the opera in UK ad for Moneysupermarket

Ad marks third in series by features director John Madden.

In the UK, Moneysupermarket and New Commercial Arts have sent secret agent team the "MoneySuperSeven" out on their latest mission – with Dame Judi Dench again in command as they go undercover at the opera.

Directed by Shakespeare In Love director John Madden, the 60-second TV ad sees Dench and co arrive at the opening night of a production of Carmen. Their mission: "To deliver savings and rewards to new SuperSaveClub members".

"Ready for your starring roles, MoneySuperSeven," says Dench, in full M mode.

The action commences as the team rush around the auditorium and behind the scenes, performing acrobatics on flyrails, before identifying their target and handing him a SuperSaveClub envelope containing rewards. "From Moneysupermarket... you're gonna love them," the agent tells him.

The campaign goes live today (3 May), also with a 30-second edit on TV, appearing on video ondemand, cinema, online video, radio and social.

It comes as consumers continue to feel the pressure from high inflation. The price comparison brand said it had helped save customers more than £1.54bn since this time last year and vows to continue helping them save in the years ahead. SuperSaveClub launched last September and has more than 300,000 members.

Lis Blair, Moneysupermarket Group chief customer officer, said: "We're delighted Dame Judi Dench and the MoneySuperSeven are back to help even more households save money on their bills and get rewarded for it.

"Our SuperSaveClub already has more than 300,000 members who benefit from the best deals and earn rewards, including free days out, adding up to over £300 a year. Joining SuperSaveClub is quick and easy – just buy a qualifying product or sign up for Credit Monitor through MoneySuperMarket to unlock your free membership."

Ian Heartfield, NCA's creative founder, said: "London's historic Coliseum provides an atmospheric setting for the MoneySuperSeven's next mission and is an environment their boss is very much at home in. This is the most filmic instalment of the campaign to date."

The ad is the third directed by Madden through Magna Studios. It was created by Heartfield and creative directors Alex King and Raymond Chan. Media was planned and bought by UM.
