Sources within the company confirmed his recent departure but could not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding his exit nor where he is headed.

Jain was appointed Y&R’s first head of digital in January last year, charged with working under managing director of Y&R Tanuj Philip to expand the agency’s digital capabilities and increase digital revenues through new business development.

Jain additionally ramped up his digital profile following the resignation of Mohammed Sirajuddeen as regional digital director of Y&R Asia in November.

“At Y&R Asia, we have been examining our digital strategy and its implementation for some time and we arrived at the conclusion that effective implementation was only possible with talent on the ground in each of our offices, not at the regional level,” Ambar Brahamachary (pictured), president of Y&R Asia, said at the time, noting that Y&R Singapore had been a “trailblazer” under Jain’s leadership.

Prior to his time at Y&R, Jain was previously client director at digital agency LBi in London, working with clients including Philip Morris, SABMiller and Emap.

He has additionally worked at Lowe Lintas Advertising in India and the UK.
