Reported this week, current MD Huang will be departing from the agency at the end of this month. He has been with the company since its formation in 2005.

During this interim period, Tan (pictured) will work closely with Michael Zhang, president of MediaCom China in Beijing, and Jonathan Tse, vice president of MediaCom China in Beijing, will also be spending more time in Shanghai to support the business there.

Regarding the departure of Huang, Zhang said, "Cary and the team worked very hard in growing our Shanghai operation significantly. It is very sad for me and MediaCom to lose him but we wish Cary all the best in his new pursuits."

Tan joined MediaCom in April 2007 as director of client services, and was responsible for managing the key clients in MediaCom's Shanghai operation. He was promoted to managing partner, MediaCom China in 2010, taking charge of the key client business of Volkswagen Group.

Hailing from Singapore, Tan is a seasoned media agency head with over 17 years experience in advertising and media agencies across Asia. Prior to joining MediaCom, Tan was GM at Starcom Shanghai.
