The Hoffman Agency appoints director of client services in China

BEIJING - The Hoffman Agency (HA) has appointed Tom McHale as director of client services for China.

He will work closely with HA’s Beijing and Shanghai offices on client strategy, new business opportunities, and staff development. 

From 2005 to 2010 he ran his own PR consultancy McHale and Dunne with offices in Portland and Vancouver. Prior to this he also worked in-house at Siemens, as VP at Edelman and group director at Brodeur Worldwide.

McHale has also held senior IT editorial roles at various publications, including editor-in-chief at Electronic Business Asia in Hong Kong, managing editor at Electronic Business Magazine in San Jose, California, associate editor at Computerworld Asia in Hong Kong and Singapore and technology writer at the South China Morning Post.

“The Hoffman Agency has seen steady growth in the China market in recent years,” said Chris Tang, MD, The Hoffman Agency Asia-Pacific. "We expect that Tom’s combination of technology PR, editorial and reporting work, and Asia experience will will help accelerate that trend, while strengthening our overall client services capabilities.”

The Hoffman Agency's first China office was established in January 1999 and its China team has grown by 50 per cent in the past two years. This year the agency was appointed to the Siemens Home Appliances and PayPal accounts.
