Doswell takes over the CEO responsibilities from 1 August, replacing Benjamin Lightfoot, who served as CEO for three years. Lightfoot is leaving to take some time to spend with his family, according to the agency.

Doswell's focus will be on delivering highly creative integrated solutions and collaborating with clients to continue to boost growth of their own businesses, a spokesperson said.

“Rob has over 13 years in the Lion City,” Charles Cadell, president, Asia-Pacific McCann Worldgroup, said in a statement. “He’s an effective business leader, with a true entrepreneurial spirit having run one of Singapore’s most innovative and awarded creative engines."

Doswell joined McCann Worldgroup in April 2012 to launch, integrate and lead Craft in Asia-Pacific. The unit now operates in eight markets with a team of almost 200 people in Asia-Pacific. Clients include OCBC, Maxis and L’Oreal.

Cadell cited Doswell's "balanced and proven capabilities" and "relentless curiosity" a factors that will ensure clients' success.

Prior to joining McCann, Doswell was vice president of Ogilvy’s integrated creative and production company, Ogilvy RedWorks and managing director of the Singapore RedWorks operation. He joined Ogilvy Advertising Singapore in 2001, moved to the boutique start up, Ogilvy RedCard, in 2002 and was made general manager and subsequently, managing director of Ogilvy RedCard (Ogilvy's famed innovative creative agency) in 2006.
