Tim Doherty replaced Shen at Isobar in April. Shen had been with Isobar for 10 years.

Brian Yongsik Nam, CEO of Cheil OpenTide, said based on the new 'internet-of-things (IOT) environment, Shen's hire would be "a validation of our position as the premier provider of truly localised, end-to-end-fully-digitalised-marketing (EFDM) services" in China.

Shen added that the Cheil OpenTide team has "the most practical strategies and perspectives, the most-digitalised marketing modules, and the full banking resources of the Samsung Group."

Apart from Samsung, the agency's clients in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Taiwan include China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, ICBC, ABC, Changcheng, Yili, Yanjing, Taikang, and Lotte Duty Free Shop.
