Omnicom's Jason Kuperman to lead jury at Digital Media Awards

Kuperman will lead the jury in reviewing the record number of 644 entries received this year, compared to 442 last year.

Following a long history within TBWA agencies, Kuperman relocated from Los Angeles to Shanghai in January 2007 as managing director of TBWA's Agency.com in China. Under his leadership, the agency grew interactive revenue by 250 per cent and doubled its client base.

He moved within Omnicom to take up the role of vice-president for digital development in 2008. His role was expanded in 2009 to cover APIMA (Asia-Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa) for the newly created unit Omnicom Digital. He is currently responsible for growing the unit's digital capabilities and profiles in recruiting top digital talent, training, capability development and strategic acquisitions.

The digital industry continues to grow and evolve following the rise of social media sites like Twitter and the launch of Apple's iPad among others. Subsequently, a number of new categories have been introduced this year including the Best Use of Social Media which has received a very good reponse.

In addition, there are three new People awards - Digital Rising Star of the Year, a category that aims to nurture and recognise young talent; Digital Creative of the Year, open to all creative directors in the region who have contributed to the role of digital advertising; and Digital Agency Head of the Year, an award for agency leaders who have effectively contributed to raising their agency’s profile and performance.

Launched in 2007, the awards recognise the digital marketers and their agencies for outstanding work in promoting products and services and have become the premier annual event for the digital marketing industry.
