SINGAPORE – Off the back of a freak flash flood in Singapore’s main shopping belt Orchard Road yesterday, insurance firm NTUC Income has launched a print ad to tap on the incident.

Following a bout of heavy rainfall in the city-state, retailers in Orchard Road are facing damages to wares, furnishings and equipment that could amount to millions of dollars in losses.

Subsequently NTUC Income launched a print ad with a picture of a car stuck in the flood in the local papers today proclaiming that the insurance brand would not be leaving its customers in the lurch.

The ad, created by BBH Asia-Pacific, features the tag: "You can be sure of one thing with us - someone will pay for this."

Since then, the ad has been shared numerous times and has generated a flurry of discussion and activity on social media channels such as Twitter, with local readers commending the timeliness and opportunistic nature of the ad.

A representative from NTUC Income also tweeted that the firm was "happy with the positive response the ad has provoked".
