HP partners with Cartoon Network

SINGAPORE - Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Cartoon Network have teamed up to present an online animation contest for children aged between seven and 14 years.

As part of this initiative children are being encouraged to direct their short animated clips featuring characters from popular series Ben10: Alien Force and Chowder.

The idea behind the initiative is to promote creativity and self-expression among kids.

Ajay Mohan, vice-president of marketing for HP’s PSG division in Asia-Pacific and Japan said: “HP recognises the need to nurture this culture of creativity and innovation at a very young age. Toon Creator Awards and our collaboration with Cartoon Network is a small step.”

Benjamin Grubbs, regional director of Turner Entertainment Interactive Media, said that the company hopes to ignite the interest of Asia’s budding young creators and generate an interactive showcase.

Cartoon Network and HP will show children how easy it is to create animated movies using HP technology and Cartoon Network’s animation. Booths equipped with HP Touchsmart PCs and desktops will be put up in selected schools.
