The combination of Chan's creative digital skills with Chang's experience will bring the Beijing office to the next phase of agency leadership, Pully Chau, chairman and CEO of Draftfcb Greater China commented on the appointment.
Chau added that the agency had expanded rapidly since its relaunch earlier this year, with increased revenue from existing clients such as MengNiu Dairy Group Telunsu, COFCO Fulinmen, and Jia DuoBao Group Kunlun Mountain mineral water.
Eddie Wong, national executive creative director of Draftfcb China, said the agency would not be replacing Chan, as a separate digital creative title was no longer needed. "The lines between online and offline have become so blurred that a delineation is not necessary. We will keep evolving in this direction. Our creative leaders will be across all forms of communications and we will be hiring people with the same skills,” said Wong.
This move is in line with an ongoing trend to integrate digital and traditional divisions on a creative level with Saatchi & Saatchi China moving in that direction as well.
